Lara Serafin is a composer and orchestrator based in London, UK, whose work spans instrumental, electronic, and experimental music. She has made notable contributions to film, television, and live performances.

Lara’s composition credits include Universelles, a mini-series that explores the complex relationship between two women in Brussels. Directed by Céline Ribard, the series is praised for its intimate portrayal of love and the city’s vibrant culture. Lara also composed scores for Ribard’s short films Galatea, Krater and Vamp.

Additionally, Lara has collaborated with renowned composer Isobel Waller-Bridge across a multitude of projects. She composed additional music to the feature film Embers, and orchestrated films The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse, an Oscar and BAFTA-winning animated short, and The Lesson, a psychological thriller. Lara’s orchestration skills are further showcased in the Czech feature film Vlny (Waves), which was shortlisted for the Academy Awards under Best International Feature, and Virginia Woolf’s Night & Day, both with music by Simon Goff.

For live performance, Lara has arranged music for a number of high-profile orchestras and performers, including the BBC Concert Orchestra and the London Contemporary Orchestra.

A significant highlight of Lara’s career is her collaboration with Floating Points. She transcribed his critically acclaimed album Promises for a special live performance at the Hollywood Bowl, where she performed alongside Floating Points and Shabaka Hutchings. Furthermore, she assisted with the orchestral arrangements and score for Floating Points' ballet Mere Mortals, which premiered to great acclaim at the San Francisco Ballet in January 2024. This ballet, a contemporary exploration of the Pandora myth, received widespread praise for its innovative fusion of electronic and classical music.

More recently, Lara released her single “Fractured” followed by EP “Trails” in 2025.
